Call for Meritorious and Scholar Awards for Trainees for #ASIP2021 at Experimental Biology!

ASIP (EPIT) Experimental Pathologist-in-Training Awards

This award is a prestigious award presented to an ASIP Post-Doctoral Trainee member (research and clinical fellows) who has excelled in investigative efforts in studying the mechanisms of disease.
Applicants who apply for the EPIT Award will also be considered for ASIP an EPIT Merit Award. Prior recipients of the EPIT and EPIT-Merit Awards may reapply if the work submitted is clearly distinct from the work previously submitted when the first award was given. Consideration will not be given for continuation of the same project.


Eligibility and Requirements:

  • Be an ASIP Post-Doctoral member in good standing at the time of application submission and through the dates of the meeting.
  • Submit an abstract to an ASIP Topic Category by the established deadline.
  • Submit an extended research report (this report should not exceed 750 words nor include more than one table and one figure).
  • Submit a Letter of Recommendation from a supervisor, colleague, mentor, etc., attesting to the applicants work role and potential as a biomedical research investigator. 

Recipients of an EPIT or EPIT-Merit Award will receive a cash award, certificate, and complimentary meeting registration.

ASIP (EPIGT) ExperimentalPathologist-in-Graduate -Training Awards

This Award is a prestigious award presented to an ASIP graduate student in a PhD training program, MD/PhD training program, or MD training program and who has excelled in investigative efforts in studying the mechanisms of disease.
Applicants who apply for the EPIGT Award will also be considered for an EPIGT-Merit Award. Prior recipients of the EPIGT and EPIGT-Merit Awards may reapply if the work submitted is clearly distinct from the work previously submitted when the first award was given. Consideration will not be given for continuation of the same project.

Be an ASIP Pre-Doctoral member in good standing at the time of application submission and through the dates of the meeting.Submit an abstract to an ASIP Topic Category by the established deadline.Submit an extended research report (this report should not exceed 750 words nor include more than one table and one figure).Submit a Letter of Recommendation from a supervisor, colleague, mentor, etc., attesting to the applicants work role and potential as a biomedical research investigator.

To promote the entry young scientists into the mainstream of the basic/translational/clinical science community and to encourage the participation of young investigative pathologists in ASIP events, we offer a robust trainee scholar awards program.  Trainee Scholar Awards acknowledge excellence in research and provides Trainee members (Undergraduate Students, Pre- and Post-doctoral Trainees) to attend the ASIP Annual Meeting at Experimental Biology (EB)
